Remember when you were a kid and once each year Wally Taber came to town with his 16mm hunting and fishing films? For me, that was long before the days of the VCR and outdoor TV shows. Many kids, adults too, vicariously followed Taber in search of Alberta whitetails or stalking Cape buffalo in Africa.
It was the stuff of which dreams were made.
Then hunting gear — particularly bowhunting equipment — wasn’t as high-tech or amenities as plentiful.
And big game hunts were filled with excitement and, often, danger.
I relived those exciting “years of yesterday” recently upon viewing Moments of Truth — a newly-released video by King Video Adventures of Quakertown.
This is the first in the company’s “Hunting Classics Series,” following its highly-rated “Majestic Whitetails” and the Curt Gowdy-narrated “King of the North” Series.
The colorful, film-transfer production features Texan Bill Negley on his quest fo
